Introduction

DuoCast (“we”, “the App”) helps you read the world’s podcasts in your native language— with timed captions, bilingual translation, and optional translated readout— turning global shows into something you can read, hear translated, and learn from. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we process and why.

DuoCast does not require an account or sign-in. We do not sell your personal information.

Information We Process

Stored on your device

• Preferences such as appearance, interface language, translation language, and playback settings
• Your followed podcasts, recent playback history, and local playback progress
• Cached audio, artwork, transcripts, and temporary files used to improve performance

Processed over the network (when you use related features)

• Podcast catalog & episode metadata — to search and recommend shows and episodes
• Episode audio — streamed or downloaded from podcast publishers / CDNs for playback
• Cloud transcription — if an episode needs a transcript, audio may be uploaded to our transcription service so we can return timed captions
• Cloud translation — transcript text may be sent to our translation service to generate bilingual text for your chosen translation language
• Cloud text-to-speech (TTS) — translation text may be sent to our TTS service when bilingual readout is enabled
• On-device / system translation — in some cases Apple’s Translation features may be used; related language packs are managed by iOS

We do not intentionally collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, or microphone recordings for account creation. DuoCast does not provide social login.

How We Use Information

• Provide core features: browsing, following, playback, captions, translation, and bilingual audio
• Improve reliability (caching, retries) and respect your in-app settings
• Operate and secure our backend services that power catalog, transcription, translation, and TTS

Data Storage & Retention

• Local preferences and follows remain on your device until you delete the App or clear related data
• Cache can be cleared in the App’s cache settings
• Server-side processing is used to generate transcripts/translations/TTS for episodes you request; we do not use this content to build advertising profiles

Third Parties

• Podcast publishers and CDNs — episode audio and artwork are provided by third-party podcast sources
• Our backend services (for example services under oksocool.com) — catalog, transcription, translation, and TTS
• Infrastructure / AI providers engaged by us to process audio or text solely to deliver the requested feature
• Apple — system frameworks (playback, optional Translation language packs)

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

Children

DuoCast is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

• You can change translation / interface language and bilingual readout settings in the App
• You can clear App caches from Cache Settings
• You can stop using cloud features by not requesting transcripts/translations/TTS, or by deleting the App
• iOS Settings may let you manage system translation language packs and App storage

International Users

Our services may be operated on servers in different regions. By using DuoCast, you understand that information needed to provide a feature may be processed in the region where that service runs.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL and the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
